FAQ

ABOUT INKJET CARTRIDGES:
1. How does an inkjet cartridge work?

Inkjet printer cartridges work on the principle of rapidly heating ink, in a series of extremely fine capillary holes known as jets or nozzles that have their own individual microscopic heating elements. A typical cartridge may have between 52 and 416 jets and associated heating elements, depending on the type and manufacturer.
On the print head of the cartridge are a series on tiny holes, each smaller than the width of a human hair. Each hole has a heater which is used to heat up the ink. This causes a bubble to form. When the heater cools down, the bubble bursts and the ink in projected onto the paper. This happens up to 6000 times per second.

2. When should an inkjet cartridge be refilled?

Never let a cartridge run out of ink completely. Your cartridge sensors will burn out, if it continues to fire while the supply of ink is cut off. Always have a replacement cartridge on hand. Otherwise get the same cartridge refilled immediately.

3. How many times can one fill an inkjet cartridge?

You can get your empty cartridge refilled for 4 to 5 times, but before filling one should clean the cartridge properly and then fill the new and best quality ink.

4. How should one take care of an inkjet printer and cartridge?

When lines and/or missing dots form on your text or graphics it's time to clean the printer. Do not touch the copper plate on the print head with your fingers. Use the printers cleaning cycle (refer to your printer manual).

Cleaning the ink-jet printer can solve minor problem, maintain print quality, and prolong periods between professional cleanings.

Thin white lines across printouts indicate that the ink nozzles need to be cleaned.

Avoid pre- printed forms, glossy or colored paper unless they are specially designed for use in an Inkjet or Laser printer.

Most of the cartridges have a print head on the bottom, which means that they require special care. The print head is a sensitive piece of equipment, so it should never be touched. This is because it can get scratched very easily or else you could somehow damage the nozzles of the cartridge where the ink actually comes out. The print head is important because it is the way the cartridge communicates with the printer, so if it gets too scratched or damaged then there is a chance, your machine will not even recognize the cartridge.

Each printer has different type of functions and needs, and accordingly, ink is developed to suit a particular printer. One cannot use the same ink for all types of Inkjet cartridges. It reduces the life of cartridge.

Keep your printer in a well-ventilated room & keep away from direct sunlight, heating and cooling vents.
